About this course

This course will help you recognise when the people around you are feeling the effects of stress or trauma. You'll learn about the importance of providing emotional support and the practical things you can do to help. You'll also get the chance to practice short self-care activities.

By completing this course you will be able to: 

  1. Identify the signs and symptoms of stress and trauma
  2. Recognise helpful strategies that can be used to care for others
  3. Identify a range of activities and strategies you can use to protect your own wellbeing while caring for others.

This course is suitable for anyone: we can all contribute to the well-being of our families, friends, workmates and communities. Requiring no prior experience, this course will help anyone gain practical tools and knowledge to provide meaningful support and make a positive impact on the lives of those around us.
