TF-CBT Part One
A self-paced course developing your understanding of each of the elements of TF-CBT for the treatment of clients with clinically relevant posttraumatic stress symptoms. This course serves as an excellent foundation to the next course, Implementing Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which explores in detail the use of imaginal and in-vivo exposure therapy and trauma-focussed cognitive therapy.
Drawing on your existing skills delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, this course will support you to use Trauma-focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with your clients. You will be able to individualise your learning activities by choosing from case vignettes as you complete activities exploring each of the key elements of treatment. You will create resources that you can use in your clinical work, and participate in short quizzes that will help you gauge your understanding of the material presented.
Trauma-focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is an evidence-based treatment for children, adolescents and adults experiencing clinically relevant posttraumatic stress symptoms. It can help individuals come to terms with trauma through exposure to, and emotional processing of, memories of the event.

This course sits partway through a sequence on treating PTSD with Trauma-focussed CBT. It is preceded by courses on understanding PTSD and assessing clients and formulating a case, and then followed by a course on implementing Trauma-focussed CBT.
