Trauma-informed Practice is about making your workplace a supportive environment for people who have experienced trauma - whether that's colleagues, customers, or anyone else. In this course, we will explore what you can do about trauma in the workplace, since trauma can show up in all sorts of ways - sometimes in the work itself, sometimes in your customers or service users, and sometimes in your colleagues.
To make your workplace supportive for everyone, we'll take you through a holistic trauma awareness model, followed by the key principles for using trauma-informed practice at work. We’ll show you practical examples of how these principles can be translated into everyday work actions, that you can translate into your work space. We’ll also get you to reflect on your own self-care, and practice short strategies throughout the session that you can use any time in the future.
