About this course

In this course, we’ll talk about stress and trauma at work. We’ll look at what causes them, and how they can affect your mental health and wellbeing. We’ll share practical tips to help you cope, and look at what workers, supervisors and employers can do to build a mentally healthy workplace. We’ll also talk about new work health and safety regulations that require employers to prevent and minimise workplace psychosocial hazards and risks.

By completing this course, you will be able to:

  1. Recognise the difference between stress and trauma, and describe how they can affect your mental health 
  2. Classify stress and trauma as psychosocial hazards, and
  3. Select strategies, appropriate to your role, that you can use to support the development of a mentally healthy workplace.
